What we check, what you get, and the questions every San Antonio homeowner should ask before choosing a new system.
If your AC is getting old, struggling through San Antonio summers, or needing repairs every year, the next step is usually the same: get a real quote for a new system. At Air to Air AC & Heating, replacement estimates are free and no-obligation, here's exactly what happens when we come out, so you know what to expect.
We start with the equipment you already have, the age of your outdoor unit and indoor coil, the refrigerant it uses, how it's been performing, and any repairs it's needed. If there's a good chance a repair makes more sense than a replacement, we'll tell you. A new system is a big purchase, and we'd rather earn your trust than push a sale.
Getting the size right matters more than almost anything else. A system that's too small runs nonstop and never catches up on a 100° afternoon. A system that's too big cools the house too fast, shuts off before it removes humidity, and leaves your home feeling clammy. We look at your square footage, ceiling heights, windows, insulation, and how much direct sun your home gets, not just the size of the old unit.
Even a brand-new high-efficiency unit will underperform if your ducts are leaking air into the attic. We check the condition of your ducts and returns and let you know if anything needs sealing or repair, and if it doesn't, we'll say so.
Most homeowners get a few choices, from budget-friendly to higher-efficiency. We work with all the major brands, including Trane, Carrier, Goodman, Ruud, Lennox, Rheem, and American Standard. For each option, you'll see the equipment, the efficiency rating, what's included in the installation, and the total price, no vague numbers.
Most estimates take about an hour. There's no charge and no pressure, you can take the quote, compare it, and call us when you're ready.
Every home is different, which is why an in-person estimate is the only way to get a real number. For a general idea of what drives the price, see our guide to new AC costs in San Antonio. Monthly payment options are available through Affirm, see financing, and many San Antonio homeowners qualify for CPS Energy HVAC rebates.
If your system is still fairly young, read AC repair vs. replacement first, or book our $129 diagnostic (waived if you go ahead with the repair). We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing.
We'll assess your home and give you a real, no-obligation number.
